Asokwa Deportivo striker Joel Fameyeh has expressed shock at his his invitation into the Local Black Stars stressing that he never expected a call up.
The striker of the Division One League side is one of four lower division players who made the 30-man squad invited by Local Black Stars coach Maxwell Konadu for camping ahead the CHAN qualifies next month.
According to Joel, even though he did very well for Asokwa Deportivo by scoring 28 goals in 30 matches, he never expected to earn a call up into the national team.
In an exclusive interview with GHANAsoccernet.com, Joel Fameyeh said ?When my coach told me that I have been invited, I was shocked. I never felt I could earn a call up. My coach was proud of me for scoring 28 goals in the league but I never thought that I could be invited into the national team.?
?I believe that this will help me a lot as I join the team in camp. I am really shocked and I will take the chance a prove a point,? Joel added.
Joel Fameyeh was the top scorer in Zone Two of the just ended Division One League assisted his team Asokwa Deportivo to seventh on the 16-team league table by scoring 28 goals out of a total of 53 for the team.
