The Chief Executive of Vodafone Ghana, Patricia Obo-Nai has urged Human Resource practitioners to change their mindset against the traditional method of practice and embrace agile transformation and technological approach to achieve customer needs and results of the organization.
She advised the practitioners to be always ready and focus to drive on the digital way that would meet both customer and organization expectations and needs.
Patricia Obo-Nai said this on Thursday at the Vodafone forum and 8th edition of HR focus and Awards conference in Accra.
The forum is on the theme: ” Agile Working; Redefining Productivity ” is aimed to bring together top-leveled executives and business professionals to share learning, engage in discussions and networking.
In the keynote address, Patricia Obo-Nai mentioned that for Agile working to be successful, organizations must provide the necessary tools and technology required for optimum performance.
According to her, managers must relook at the present processes and build a culture of trust that would empower employees to work at where, when and how they choose to work provided they deliver on the key performance indicators (KPI) in the organization.
” let’s develop a culture that’s not rewarding compliance but opportunities and outcomes, that’s the way to develop the mindset and achieve results, ” she said.
She argued that a change of mindset, attitude, and practices through the Agile approach would drive the organization’s agenda in the right direction, adding,” it takes strategic planning to plan change that can take the organization to another bigger level,”
” As HR practitioners, don’t transform old services and call it transformation but, rather let us transform the mindset, attitude, and practices in our lives,” she urged practitioners.
“that’s why the Amazons don’t work like the technical retail because they came with a different mindset and technology was at the core of what the delivered,” she argued.
She again urged HR practitioners and professionals to employ developers, raise critical thinkers through retraining of staff to enhance their technological ability in solving and resolving issues in this new era.
” We should harness the HR and never lose sight of the present circumstances. Times have changed and must change with it. To seek the new ways to innovate, transform and produce results with the smartest most efficient of approaches-Agile is one of them,” she stressed.
The Acting Chief Executive of L’AINE services, James Laar touched on issues that can enable an organization to enhance the skills and abilities of HR practitioners in an organization.
He called on employers to develop a software that can help transform the ability of the HR practitioners and professionals to meet customers needs as expected of the organization
” Organizations must develop a software that can link up with others, must implement a structure or contact a consultant to help develop the mindset of staff through the Agile working method, ” he added.
The forum was made up of over 50 carrier participants in various sectors. It gave opportunities to a number of companies to showcase their products, services, and HR processes at the exhibition site.
Also, about 27 HR practitioners and teams are to be rewarded for their outstanding performances in the industry.
