The said raffle game machines introduced by some Chinese in the country in recent times are said to have contributed to low school attendance among children.

Briefing Newsghana.Com on the action taken by the chiefs to avert the problem, Nana Kwame Donkor disclosed that most school children when given money for school rather visit these places where the machines are cited and play the game and when they lose, they resort to engaging in all manner of activities, and return when school closes.

He said the situation therefore became a matter of concern to the traditional authorities, compelling the Paramount Chief of the Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area, Nana Nyarko Eku X and the other Divisional Chiefs to initiate the action to ban the use of these raffle machines in the area, or sanction any bar operator who refuse to comply with the directive.

He hinted since the action was taken, school attendance among the children has improved drastically
