The Chief of Gomoa Jukwa-Idankrom in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region, Nana Okatakyi Idan Opirim IX has lamented the bad nature of roads in the area, saying it has contributed to the lack of development in the District.
As a result, he has called on the government, to as a matter of urgency, come to the aid of the District by refurbishing all the deplorable roads in the District.
Nana Idan made the call during the annual purification of his stool and the celebration of the Yam festival.
According to the Chief, they have written a series of letters to the relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the District Assembly, but they have failed.
He however commended the Member of Parliament for the area, Naana Eyiah Quansah for contributing in diverse ways to ensure that the District gets the needed development that it deserves, despite the challenge of the bad nature of the roads.
Touching on the upcoming general elections, Nana Idan also advised the youth to desist from any acts that tend to cause violence before, during, and after the elections.
He again advised parents not to shirk their responsibility, but take good care of their children, especially the girl-child to help curb the increasing problem of teenage pregnancy in the area.
