The President, John Dramaniu Mahama has fired his Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani and?has appointed Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Julius Debrah, as the new Chief of Staff.
In a statement issued by the Minister of Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah,?Prosper Bani has now been appointed an Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary.
Also the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Johnny Osei Kofi has been appointed as Julius Debrah’s deputy.
It could be recall that the Presidency on February 4, confirmed the resignation?of Communications Adviser to the President, Ben Dotsei Malor and Secretary to the President, Dr. Raymond Atuguba from the Flagstaff House.
However, it was rumored that the exit of the two senior officials at the Presidency came?with several reports suggesting that the two were unhappy about their difficult working relationship with the then Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani.
Meanwhile,?Prosper Bani who signed the statement said Mr. Dotsei Malor?s exit was as a result of the conclusion of his one-year contract as Communications Adviser at the Flagstaff House.
It also went on to state that Raymond Atuguba had returned to the University of Ghana following the end of his ?two-year sabbatical leave.?
As part of the changes at the flagstaff house, William K. Aboah has resigned as an Adviser responsible for the restructuring of NACOB into a Commission and will assume the Chairmanship of the NACOB when the Board is constituted.
Baba Issifu Kamara, a Senior Adviser for Special Duties is the new National Security Adviser.
The?President has also stated his appreciation for the work carried out by all the officials who have exited, and expressed confidence in the capabilities and experience of the new appointees.
