As part of an effort to develop their community, the Chiefs and people of Kwansakrom in the Agona East District of the Central Region have organized a Home Coming to raise money for the construction of a health facility in the town.

According to the Adontenhen of the town, who doubles as the Chairman of the planning committee for the events, Nana Esuako Asuapem Ababio II, start-up money of GH 100,000.00 Cedis has been targeted for the project.

Speaking to in an interview, he stressed that the construction of the health facility has become necessary since patients in the town, especially pregnant women in labour have to be sent to either Agona Asafo health center or the Agona Swedru Government Hospital during delivery, a situation he described as unacceptable in this modern day and era.

He further noted that the town faces numerous challenges, such as inaccessible roads and a lack of a refuse dumping site.

He again revealed that the Chiefs and people of the town also intended to construct a library facility to help promote quality education among students.

Currently, the town is constructing a 2-story ultramodern palace with offices and a conference hall.

Meanwhile, the head of the Royal stool of the town, Ebusuapanyin Kofi Kaitoo, has appealed to indigenes, both home and abroad, as well as benevolent organizations and individuals to support the course.

He also advised them not to see the Homecoming as a mere event but as an opportunity to come home and interact with their families.

Recently, the Chief of the town, Nana Kwansa Sarpong, appealed to colleague chiefs not to rely on promises by politicians to improve the economic and infrastructural development in their towns and villages, but rather marshal the financial and human resources of their people to embark on self-help projects.
