Chiefs show patriotic zeal

Dr. Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, the Central Regional Minister has commended the Chiefs of Breman Asikuma Traditional Area, especial the Chief of Beedum for providing 41acres of land towards the construction of a Community Senior High School at Breman Beedum.

Dr. Quansah made the commendation when he joined the chiefs and people of Breman Traditional Area at a durbar to celebrate the Breman Odwira Afahye 2015. It was on the theme “Uniting Bremanman for Accelerated Development.”

Dr. Quansah also expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Breman Jamera for releasing land for the construction of a Polyclinic at Jamera.

The Regional Minister disclosed that the road from Mensakrom to Breman Asikuma has been awarded to a contractor and the first phase work was on course.

He said plans were far advanced for the commencement of work on other roads in the area.

Mrs. Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency, congratulated the Chiefs on the occasion of their festival.

She mentioned provision of mobile clinic services to the aged and children in the area, construction of a health centre at Breman Asikuma, scholarships for 25 brilliant but needy students among others as some projects she has executed.

She said the projects were in line with the social contract she had with the people of the area during the 2012 electioneering campaign.

The MP said she has also supplied over 1618 meters to poor homes, registered over 1,000 people on the National Health Insurance Scheme, constructed drainage at Abuakuwa community, supplied hair dryers and sewing machines to some youth for their livelihoods.

Earlier, Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, President of Breman Asikuma Traditional Area, was carried in a palanquin amidst Frontomfrom drumming and dancing through the principal streets of the Breman Asikuma Township.

Personalities who graced the occasion included Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VIII, Abeadze Omanhen and President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs.
