China And Africa Must Redefine New Terms Of Engagement

Hu Zhangliang, the Chinese ambassador to Sierra Leone, has called on China and Africa to stay committed to taking their friendship forward.

“Given the new opportunities and challenges we face, closer cooperation between China and Africa is needed more than ever,” said Hu at an online press conference on Friday.

Hu briefed local journalists on the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity against COVID-19, saying African leaders have applauded China’s exemplary efforts in helping Africa fight against the virus and recover the economy.

“China and Africa need to support each other on issues involving the respective core interests, and advance the fundamental interests of China and Africa and for that matter, of all developing countries,” he said.

“We will be able to take the China-Africa comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership to a greater height,” Hu added. Enditem
