China plays a key part in Zambian development as witnessed by a number of developmental projects, Zambia’s opposition leader said on Monday.
Opposition Democratic Assembly President Maxwell Mwamba has urged political players in the country not to practice politics of violence that would scare away Chinese investments.
Mwamba said there is urgent need to encourage more investments from China to fast track the economic development of Zambia.
“Chinese are key stakeholders in the development of Zambia as witnessed by a number of developmental projects the country is experiencing,” he said.
On China, Mwamba warned that Zambian politicians should not engage in politics of violence.
Zambian politicians shall not to utter negative statements against the Chinese investments in Zambia, said Mwamba, given that some politicians were in a habit of passing derogatory remarks against the Chinese people with the aim of inciting people to hate the Chinese.
According to Mwamba, the Chinese have created jobs for many Zambians, which some local politicians have failed to create but they were just busy criticizing. Enditem
