How A Typical Ghanaian Scholar Should Look Like

Chinese Ambassador Wu Peng has awarded scholarships to 15 outstanding students for their excellent performances in the past academic year in their constituent colleges.

The students were drawn from the three constituent colleges of Fourah Bay college, the Institute of Public Administration and college of Medicines of the University of Sierra Leone.

According to Ambassador Wu, one of the students will benefit from the Chinese government scholarship to study in China in 2017.

He told his audience that these scholarships are a response to President Ernest Bai Koroma’s efforts to help the youths of Sierra Leone, adding that the Chinese government attaches great importance to youth development and education.

Wu pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries over 40 years ago, the government of China has provided more than 500 scholarships to Sierra Leoneans to study in China.

The vice chancellor of the University of Sierra Leone, Professor Sahr Gbanmanja, thanked the ambassador for the scholarships, noting that the scholarships are evidence of the deepening ties between both countries. Enditem
