Mr Tong Defa, the new Chinese Ambassador to Ghana has announced a planned working visit to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the only state wire service provider in Ghana.
The visit, the Ambassador indicated, was to affirm and strengthen their partnerships with the Agency.
Mr Tong made the disclosure in an interview with the GNA on the sidelines of a press briefing organised by the Chinese Embassy in Accra on the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
The Summit, which was successfully held in Beijing, from 4th to 6th September, had Chinese President Xi Jinping delivering the keynote address at the opening ceremony.
In attendance were leaders from all 53 African countries with diplomatic relations with China, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana.
During the press briefing, Mr Tong lauded the GNA for its contributions towards strengthening the Ghana-China relationship.
He reiterated the need for people to know what China was doing in Africa; stating that he was approaching the news media as part of efforts to tell the Chinese story to Ghanaians.
He hoped his visit to the GNA would give him the chance to know more about the Agency.
In attendance at the press briefing was Mr Albert Kofi Owusu, the General Manager of the GNA.
