Chinese charity organization China Guangdong Lions Clubs (CGLC) made donation to the poor and the disabled on Thursday in Kigali, capital city of Rwanda.
The donation was made through National Union of Disability Organizations in Rwanda (NUDOR). CGLC handed over solar lamps, clothes, balls, stationery and other stuff at the handover ceremony held in the Chinese embassy in Rwanda.
“I’m sure CGLC’s contribution will improve the life of local people and benefit the disabled poor students,” said Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda Rao Hongwei at the ceremony.
“It’s more than material supplies,” said the envoy, “It’s a concrete expression of what brothers and sisters are about. It’s a close bond of love, care and companionship between the Chinese and Rwandan people.”
President of NUDOR Dominique Bizimana said the union appreciates CGLC’s initiative to come to Africa and Rwanda to promote welfare of people with disabilities. “We receive your support and your good will. Other people can live and survive with your support,” he said.
CGLC hopes the donation could promote friendship between China and Rwanda, CGLC thanks Rwandan people for giving the organization an opportunity to serve Rwandan people, said He Weihong, Vice Chairperson of External Exchange Committee of CGLC.
Established in 2002, CGLC is a non-government organization that is committed to charity services. Enditem
