Chinese community commended for supporting Zambia’s COVID-19 fight, Zambia lawmaker

The Chinese community will remain relevant in various sectors in Zambia as they are playing their part to support measures to strengthen fight against COVID-19 in Zambia by donating Personal Protective Equipment and other materials to Zambians, a lawmaker said here on Saturday.

Christopher Yaluma, Malole Member of Parliament commended the Chinese business community for the untiring efforts to donate protective materials to fight COVID-19 in Zambia.

“We are happy that our Chinese friends have been in support of Zambian government’s efforts in fighting the COVID-19,” he said.

Yaluma was speaking in an interview after the Zambia China Association (ZCA) donated various staff to fight coronavirus in Malole Constituency.

The donations were handed over to Yaluma in Kalulushi district on the Copperbelt province.

Wang Xin, a ZCA Copperbelt branch president said in Kalulushi when he presented the donations that the Chinese community will continue to support Zambian governments’ efforts to fight the spread of coronavirus.

“We work in Zambia and we are supposed to supplement government’s efforts in fighting COVID-19,” he said.

And a Kalulushi resident Joshua Nalumino said Chinese have proved to mean well in various communities apart from creating jobs they were also fulfilling their other support through Corporate Social Responsibility.

Nalumino said called for strengthened China and Zambia bilateral relations for the benefit of their nationalities through investments and job creation. Enditem
