Eighteen Chinese enterprises were among the 43 foreign firms attending a premier Zambian expo in the mineral-rich Copperbelt province, organizers said on Friday.

Zambia’s peace and tranquility will help enhance foreign investment flow into the African country, said Chinese enterprises at the Copperbelt Agricultural, Mining and Industrial Trade Expo.

“We looking forward to expanding our services and marketing of our products,” said Jimmy Zhao, central Africa manager of Nanchang Mineral Systems Africa Pty Limited.

Wuxi Geological Drilling and Exploration Tool Company Limited sales representative Mandy Qin said Zambian mining firms were importing equipment from their manufacturing plant in China.

“We want to bring our products and services closer to the mining industry in Zambia. When the market proves to be viable, we will open an office in Zambia,” Qin said.

Meanwhile, Skyray Investment company supervisor and general manager of international markets David Xu said the company was exhibiting in the country for the first time.

Xu said the company, a manufacturer of mining machinery, would want to partner with local companies to bring their products closer to customers.

According to the official visitor catalogue, 120 exhibitors at the expo were Zambian enterprises while 43 foreign firms came from eight countries. Enditem
