United Trillion Zambia Limited, a Chinese company, said the private sector should show commitment to help the Zambian government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ma Ning, deputy general manager, said there is great need to supply Zambian government’s efforts to fight COVID-19.

Ma was speaking in an interview after the Chinese firm donated 1,000 face masks and assorted sanitizers to Chambishi police station to protect the police officers as they attend to different people.

“The police were at greater risk of contracting the virus hence the need to ensure they had adequate protective material such as masks and hand sanitizers as recommended by Zambia’s Ministry of Health,” he said.

He said the Zambian government had put intensified efforts to ensure lives were protected, but that the private sector could do more in making donations to various sectors.

According to Ma, the firm is committed to working with the Zambian government to improve the livelihood of the community in areas it operated. Enditem
