Last week, a delegation from the Chinese firm met with Gabon’s water resources minister.

The two parties negotiated on the construction of FE2-Mitzic power station in northern Gabon and another one at Empress Ngounie Falls in the south of the country.

CGGC has expressed great interest in the two projects whose total cost is estimated to be 119 billion CFA Francs (about 200 million U.S. dollars), a Gabonese official said.

The government is yet to secure funding for the project whose objective is to provide electricity to the people living in three of Gabon’s nine provinces.

Another Chinese company recently constructed Poubara hydroelectric dam in Gabon’s southeast region of Haut Ogooue. Enditem
