Zambia’s strategic plan to transform the Copperbelt province needs the expertise of the Chinese experts to be part of the development agenda, a senior Zambian government official said on Thursday.

Copperbelt provincial minister Japhen Mwakalombe said in an interview with Xinhua that the Chinese have the technology and the skills to assist in the transformation of the province.

“The government will remain committed to working with the Chinese in advancing development in Zambia, especially the Copperbelt province which is earmarked for development,” he said.

Speaking in an interview with Xinhua after the Zambia Chinese Association (ZCA) donated 30 thermometers to the Copperbelt provincial administration, ZCA Copperbelt branch president Wang Xin said the association remains ready and open for consultation and will continue to support the province through job creation.

“We have donated 30 thermometers to the Copperbelt provincial administration to help them in the fight against COVID-19,” Wang said. Enditem
