“As of Sunday, only 23 people remained in centers set up to treat cholera cases in all the five affected districts,” said Chikumbe, adding a total of 634 cases have been record since December 19, 2015.

The Malawi government announced that it had mobilized health workers in the cholera prone areas and in all the districts in the country to distribute chlorine and sensitize the public on principles of hygiene.

Malawi registered the highest cholera cases and deaths in 2008/2009 when the outbreak claimed 82 lives and the number of registered cases hit 3,250. Enditem
