Be Good Ambassadors, Opara Charged Pilgrims

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara on Thursday, advised the last set of Easter pilgrims from Niger State to be good ambassadors of the country.

Opara, who was at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, assured the pilgrims of their comfort and security while in Israel said the pilgrims should not entertain any form of fear as everything has been taken care of.

He said, ?The Federal government and the Christian Pilgrim Commission remains committed and will do everything possible to ensure that all the pilgrims get the best treatment. I urge you to be good ambassadors of your families and the country in general. Pray for peaceful coexistence and prosperity of our dear nation.?

He advised them to do everything noble to contribute in building a better image for the country through good conduct and exemplary behaviour.

“You are the first image of the country the outside world would see and whatever you do, will impact on the image of the country.

“Be morally and spiritually transformed so that you would be able to affect your lives, your family and the country as a whole.??

He said that Christians, who allowed themselves to be spiritually and morally transformed while on pilgrimage, would in turn affect millions and make the country a better place to live in.

Okpara thanked the state governor ?Babangida Aliyu is a gentleman who has ceaselessly support you in your quest to go to the Holy Land. He has done well and made us proud?.

Speaking to Journalist at the airport, the North Central Zonal Coordinator, Venerable Chibuogwu Joseph said ?the commission has been able to organize this Easter pilgrimage and in total has 3000 pilgrims all over the country which he said was encouraging. We are hoping to do more coming year?.
