A pastor of the Glory Temple Assemblies of God (A/G) at Densuano, in Koforidua, has called for security training for all ushers in churches in the country to be able to arrest the emerging security threat.

According to Reverend Lamberth Kofi Xatse, ushers play a vital role for making sure there is order in the church and they are key in matters of security in the church.

He said if ushers are educated on some basic security tips it will help them to detect people with criminal intensions who try to enter the church to commit crime.

Rev. Xatse said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Koforidua.

Mr Xatse called on the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to collaborate with the Ghana Police Service to educate the public on basic security tips.

Rev. Minister in-charge of the Peace congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Gyamfi Amoah Isaac, urged Christians to also be on the look out to alert the police when they see a strange person or suspect any strange Movement of an unknown individual in their community.

He explained that such persons will always come to church late and exhibits some strange movements.
