Churches have been called to visit the poor and the sick as part of their priority activities in order to fulfil the will of God.

Reverend Solomon Asiamah Okyere, Head Pastor of the Apostolic Word Ministries at Effiduase in the Sekyere East District, said Christians should always be in the lead to “visit the sick in bed and help the needy in society”.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, after presenting food and dined with in-patients of the Effiduase Government Hospital, Rev Okyere said Christians have the responsibility to support the needy.

Rev Okyere, who is also the founder of the Pinasol Foundation, a community-based Christian NGO, together with the church members also prayed for the patients and urged them to put their trust in the Lord.

He pledged the church’s continued support to the Hospital to enable it cater for needy patients at all times.
