Hearts of Oak Kenichi Yatsuhashi has denied ever granting an interview that his side were unprepared for the FirsTrust G6 tournament which starts on Thursday.

The Phobians are billed to play Medeama and Aduana Stars in Group A of the four-day tournament in Sekondi.

Hearts were beaten by Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli in a two-legged friendly last month but recovered to win handsomely against a lower division side.

Quotes attributed to the Japanese trainer meant he was downcast about his side’s battle readiness.

But he has described those reports as false.

“I didn’t say, “we are not ready for G6”, but that is not only thing I was quoted but I did not say,” he posted on his Facebook page.

“In fact, 80% of what media claim what I said or did is not true. Please watch us on the pitch, either for trainings or matches. That will speak for itself.”
