The Yunyoo/Nasuan District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has said winning the fight against COVID-19 is a shared responsibility.
It urged citizens in the area to join the campaign to combat the disease.
Mr Emmanuel Kombat, the Yunyoo/Nasuan District Director of the NCCE, said government is committed to defeating the COVID-19 pandemic in the country and citizens needed to adhere to the safety protocols.
He was speaking at a sensitisation and awareness creation campaign against COVID-19 organised by the NCCE in the Yunyoo/Nasuan District of the North East Region.
The campaign was to educate residents on the mode of transmission and symptoms related to the virus, and how it is being managed through adherence to the safety protocols.
Mr Kombat urged citizens to wear their face masks at all times, avoid crowded areas, frequently wash their hands with soap under running water and sanitise their hands with alcohol-based hand sanitisers.
He advised residents not to stigmatise people who had been infected by the virus and have been discharged.
