War correspondents worldwide can enter a competition.

The Bayeux-Calvados Award for War Correspondents, sponsored by the Calvados General Council and the town of Bayeux, France, honor coverage of conflict situations or news events relating to the fight for freedom and democracy.

The winner of each category will receive a EU?7,000 (USD$9,840) cash prize. International correspondent Christiane Amanpour will preside over the jury’s deliberations.

Categories include young reporters, long and short-form TV, radio, print, online and photojournalism. The report must have been published between June 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013.

The deadline is June 10.
