Comptroller General of Customs urged to investigate Erring Officers



The Comptroller General of Customs DikkoAbdullahi has been told to investigate the involvement of customs officials in the fracas between Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) aviation security, and customs officers, with a view to taking appropriate punitive action, if found guilty.

After a meeting between management of FAAN and the customs officers, it was resolved among other things that the Comptroller General of Customs DikkoAbdulahi, should review the current deployments at MMIA, to ensure that only officers who met requirements of civility were retained.

That FAAN should not restrict the movement of customs officers deployed at theairport, but will continue to manage access control to ensure airport security in linewith global standards.

It was also agreed that operations in the airport will be guided by strict adherence to process and procedures, established by the law.
