Confirmed: Essien Passes Milan Medicals

essienGhana midfielder Michael Essien is looking forward to starting his new career at AC Milan despite earlier reports in the Italian media that he had failed his medical at the Italian giants.

The two clubs agreed a deal for the Ghana international, who joined the Premier League side in 2005, on Friday. But reports in the Italian media suggested he had failed a medical.

However, 31-year-old Essien later tweeted: ?Haters will broadcast your failure but whisper your success. Medical?s done, looking forward to starting my new life with AC Milan.?

Essien, who was Chelsea?s record signing when he arrived from Lyon for ?24.4m, has made nine appearances this season since returning from a loan spell at Real Madrid.

AC Milan are yet to come out with an official statement on the proposed transfer.

Michael Essien has confirmed passing his medicals.

He tweeted [email protected] that: ?Haters will broadcast your failure but whisper your success. Medicals done, looking forward to start my new life with AC Milan.”

Italian media however report that Essien did not pass his Milan medical, so could be sent back to Chelsea.

According to La Repubblica, the 31-year-old Ghana international failed tests related to an old knee injury, having ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament twice.

Essien arrived in Milan on Friday evening and had his medical on Saturday morning.
