A heated controversy has erupted in the Cape Coast North Constituency as Dr Kwamena Minta Nyarku, the incumbent Member of Parliament, faces accusations of attempting to disrupt an upcoming Astro Turf project initiated by Hon. Horace Ekow Ewusi, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate.

The Astro Turf project, which aims to enhance sports facilities in the community, has been met with opposition from certain quarters.

Sources suggest that the NDC’s Deputy Constituency Communications Officer and personal aide to Dr Nyarku publicly criticized the project, allegedly inciting followers to disrupt contractors’ work on-site.

This has fueled concerns among residents eagerly anticipating the project’s benefits.

The project is expected to significantly contribute to sports development and provide valuable opportunities for local youth. The allegations of sabotage have raised alarm about potential delays and the impact on community morale.

Efforts to reach Dr Kwamena Minta Nyarku for a response have failed.

In light of the accusations, the people of Abura, supported by their Chiefs, are calling for transparency and an end to any actions that could undermine the project’s success.

They urge all stakeholders to prioritize the community’s welfare and ensure the project progresses smoothly for the residents’ benefit.
