Cory Monteith’s Death Brought The Glee Cast Closer

It hasn’t been easy for the cast of?Glee?to work without Cory Monteith, but the show must go on.

Life & Style?chatted with Jane Lynch, who plays the one and only Sue Sylvester on the hit series, and she revealed how everyone has grown closer since the actor’s tragic passing.
“Everyone has gotten really close. We had a great memorial, we had a very private memorial with just the cast and the crew…a fitting tribute to such a wonderful guy,” she told?Life & Style?at the?Afternoon Delight?premiere at the ArcLight Hollywood?on Monday. “I think that really helped us to start working on this season.”

But the loss certainly hasn’t been easy on them. “We miss him very much and there’s a big empty trailer that we walk by every day,” she shared. “It’s sad, but the wheels keep turning and you just do your job.”

Glee, which kicks off its fifth season on?Sept. 26, will dedicate its third episode to Cory’s character, Finn. Last week, creator Ryan Murphy revealed they changed the script and decided against revealing exactly how Finn dies. Fox executives initially said that the series would directly deal with Cory’s death.

But it turns out the cast doesn’t know too much about it just yet. “I haven’t seen it. I don’t envy the job that they [the writers] have to do,” Jane, 53, said. “I know that it just came out today, and that people are reading it. I don’t have anything to say. I don’t know what it is.”

On?July 13, Cory’s body was found in his hotel room in Vancouver. He passed away from a drug overdose involving heroin and alcohol. Since Cory’s untimely death, his girlfriend and?Glee?co-star Lea Michele, 26, has been vocal about her emotions. She even dedicated her award at the Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 11 to the 31-year-old.

When?Life & Style?asked Jane about how Lea is holding up, she simply responded, “I think good.”
