A. N. D. Metals, a Kumasi based company involved in exportation of scrap metals, has presented a cheque for GHC 50,000.00 to the Ashanti Regional Health Directorate to support the fight against COVID-19 in the region.

The donation was in response to a call by the Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Maher Al Khair to Lebanese companies in the country to reach out to the Government of Ghana in the fight against the global pandemic.

Madam Laila Ilias, Accountant of the company who presented the cheque on behalf of the Managing Director, Mr. Abass Naseriddine, said it was the company’s contribution towards Ghana’s response plan against the deadly disease.

She said the Manager who had lived in Ghana for many years and enjoyed the hospitality of Ghanaians was committed to supporting health authorities in their quest to contain the virus and prevent community spread.

The good people of Ghana, she noted, deserved to live beyond the coronavirus and prayed for a successful containment of the disease in the shortest possible time.

Dr Emmanuel Tinkorang, the Regional Director of Health Services who received the cheque, applauded the company for the support, which he said was critical to the fight against the disease.

He gave the assurance that the money would be used for the purpose for which it was donated and called on other corporate bodies and individuals to contribute to efforts to protect the citizenry from the virus.
