The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Zimbabwe surged to 265 on Friday after 28 residents who returned from South Africa tested positive for the virus.

In an update, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said active cases are 228, while 33 people have recovered and four died.

The country has carried out a total of 52, 218 COVID-19 tests to date.

The country imposed a total lockdown on March 30, followed by an indefinite partial lockdown beginning May. Enditem
