Benin’s total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases increased to 1,017 after the country reported 115 more infections on Thursday, according to the official data.

The country also reported a new COVID-19 related death case, taking the death toll to 14, since Benin registered first COVID-19 confirmed infection on March 16, according to the official website www.gouv.bj/coronavirus/.

As of 24 June, Benin has registered 715 COVID-19 confirmed patients under treatment, 288 patients have recovered.

To curb the spread of the pandemic, the country strengthened health security measures and imposed face mask mandates for people in public settings.
