Senior health officials at the Korle Bu Teaching and Accra Regional (Ridge) Hospitals have warned Ghanaians to practice hygienic habits as the Coronavirus aka Covid-19 is a real killer.

Speaking to the media at the presentation of biscuits by pladis, the global biscuit, chocolate and confectionery company, which owns the iconic brands, Godiva, McVitie’s and Ulker with their accredited local distributor, Far East Mercantile Ghana Limited, they thanked the company and charged the general public to guard themselves.

Madam Annie Esinam Akotey, CNO at Korle Bu said the coronavirus is a pandemic which has killed many people all over the world so Ghanaians should not take it as a tale or joke.

Mr. Mustapha Salifu, Head of Public Relations at the nation’s biggest hospital urged the public to abide by the health and safety protocols.

Dr. Emmanuel Srofenyoh, Medical Director at Ridge Hospital assured Ghanaians that is they comply by the measures put in place by the health authorities lives would be saved.

DD NS Klu advised people to wash hands frequently, use sanitizers, avoid handshakes and practise social distancing to curb the spread of the virus.

DD NS Abankwa who also works at the Ridge Hospital cautioned people to wear the right face masks and report to the health posts when they feel sick.

Rahul Kashyap, National Sales Manager Of Fareast Mercantile Co Ltd said their products are nutritious and they have been in existence for many decades, making their quality brands popular and attractive.

Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, CEO of Dreamland Sports Plus, an events, marketing and management outfit who is also a sanitation ambassador and youth coordinator of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) appealed to companies to support front line workers during this pandemic era.

He appealed to the youth to be vigilant and live healthy lifestyle as they are the future leaders and keeping the country clean much depends on them.

Mr. Patrick Osei-Adusah, Territory Sales Manager, Ghana, pladis Global expressed the company’s appreciation to all Health workers especially those at the forefront of the Pandemic for facing the issues head on and the Security Agencies in helping to ensure peace in the country especially the partial locked down areas.
