Colonel Punamane


Colonel Joseph Malik Punamane, out-going Port Security Manager at the Ghana Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority has advised Ghanaians and workers at the country’s ports to respect the President’s directives on social distancing and hygiene protocols in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

He also called on the frontline workers to continue to put up their best in the fight against the deadly disease to enable the President to reverse the directives for normal life to begin.

Colonel Punamane, who served the PSM since November 2017 expressed the gratitude during a send-off party organized for him and expressed gratitude to his superiors for giving him the opportunity to serve at the port.

“I want to express my gratitude to the Board, management, staff of GPHA and the Port community for accepting me and the support I enjoyed during my tenure as the Port Security Manager.

“I am highly optimistic that my successor, Col. William Kwabiah, a brilliant Army officer with high level of competence, will measure-up to the task”. Col Punamane said.

He also commended personnel of the Ghana Navy, Marine police, Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA), The Tema regional police command and other stakeholders including; the Tema Metropolitan Assembly for their good works.

“As it is often said, Doing what is right, appeals to the better nature in all of us and that is why universities all over the world are putting ethic courses in their curriculum to help students discern right from wrong.”

The Acting Director of Tema Port, Mrs. Sandra Opoku, on behalf of management and staff of the company, expressed appreciation for his hard work and dedication to duty citing numerous occasions where Col. Punamane has acted swiftly to forestall disaster.
