The newly elected CPP Chairman of the Adentan Constituency, Mr. Abdul Malik Jeleel has lambasted on the NPP MP, Lawyer Yaw Boabeng Asamoah and the MCE, Nii Noi for failure to provide the less privileged youth in the municipality with economic empowerment for their sustainable livelihood.

This was contained in a press statement issued on the 16th of October 2019 on the situation of youth in the municipality.

He said, increase in crime rate by the youth such as burglary and stealing, internet-based fraud, drug peddling, armed robbery and high prevalence of prostitution among young women in the municipality are all as a result of youth unemployment.

In his statement, he made mention of the high prevalence of alcoholism among the youth of Adentan as a factor of no jobs that would engage them, so drinking bar and spot have been their respective offices or workplaces.

The statement gave an awakening spirit for the youth of Adentan to rethink and consider the CPP as the best next alternative coming 2020 as the two sell-out political parties being NPP and NDC have disappointed them woefully.

He said history would attest to the fact that the CPP in 1949-1966 placed major focus on the youth that’s why the young pioneers were formed to empower youth and create sustainable livelihood not forgetting work and happiness that Nkrumah brought to our fathers and mothers or grandparents.

He further appealed to the youth of Ghana to arise and not to allow themselves to be used by politicians in the two sell-out political parties for vigilantism that will result in violence and jeopardize our democratic processes coming 2020.

In conclusion in said, if the NPP government was to be serious with the youth of Ghana, it is not at this time of the hour that we are running into an election year that the validation processes of the national draft youth policy 2020-2030 would start, which clearly shows that they are a failed government which couldn’t deliver to their own economic promises and they should bear in mind that, those who wait for the 11th hour died on the 10th hour.
