The Creative Arts for NDC Greater Accra Regional Branch has kicked off its campaign, uniting creative professionals across Ghana in support of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

The event, held in Accra, emphasized the crucial role of the creative sector in the nation’s cultural and economic development, with National Chairman Haruna Seidu Soale Zoree outlining a bold vision for transforming Ghana’s creative economy under Mahama’s leadership.

The campaign promises to make the arts a central pillar in the nation’s progress, advocating for increased support, investment, and opportunities for creatives.

Haruna Seidu Soale Zoree, the National Chairman of Creatives for NDC, emphasized the pivotal role that the creative sector plays in Ghana’s cultural and economic landscape.

He highlighted the passion, talent, and resilience of the nation’s artists, musicians, filmmakers, and other creatives, who continue to drive the industry forward despite numerous challenges.

He said: “Our creative community is a vital part of Ghana’s identity,” Zoree stated. “Today, we gather not just to celebrate our achievements but to amplify our voices and demand the recognition and support our sector deserves.”

The campaign launch outlined a clear vision for transforming Ghana’s creative economy, focusing on several strategic initiatives.

These include the establishment of creative hubs to foster collaboration, increased funding and grants for creatives, skill development programs tailored to the digital age, and the creation of a national freelance guild platform to connect talent with opportunities.

However, Zoree did not shy away from addressing the shortcomings of the current government, criticizing its failure to adequately support the creative sector.

He pointed out that contracts have often been awarded to a select few, leaving many talented artists without the necessary platforms to showcase their work.

“In contrast, John Dramani Mahama recognizes the immense value of creativity in driving both economic growth and cultural identity,” Zoree asserted.

“His comprehensive plan for the arts prioritizes investment in our industry’s future and acknowledges the vital contributions of creatives.”

As the campaign gears up for the December 7th elections, Creatives for NDC is committed to engaging communities and spreading the message of change and progress.

The organization aims to make the creative sector a cornerstone of Ghana’s national development, underpinned by Mahama’s vision for a thriving, inclusive creative economy.

Haruna Seidu Soale Zoree pledged his vote for John Dramani Mahama, urging all creatives and Ghanaians to join him in shaping a brighter future for the country’s creative sector.

“Let’s rise, create, and succeed,” he declared, marking the start of what promises to be a dynamic and impactful campaign.
