British company Crown Agents responded on Saturday to the allegations on corruption in Albania when it implement its contract with Albanian customs.

Crown Agents is working with the Albanian ministry of finance in Albania to support the development of the country’s customs administration, according to Albanian telegraphic agency.

“Crown Agents has no intention to engage in a political debate on the type of work we have done and continue to do in Albania. We welcome constructive advice and suggestions on how our work can be improved and at the same time always remain open to discuss these issues with anyone,” according to a statement released by the company.

“These individuals who made the allegations have not presented evidence to support this claim, nor will be able to do something like that because their claims are completely false,” the statement read.

Crown Agents went on saying “the company works on the basis of the highest standards of honesty and integrity and any allegation of corruption is taken very seriously by us.”

Also the British embassy reacted on Friday to the allegations against the company Crown Agents, asking the Albanian politics to prove its allegations against the company or otherwise withdraw them, according to Albanian daily news.

“In recent days, several Albanian politicians and commentators have articulated in print and electronic media serious charges for corrupt practices against a British company, Crown Agents. But the embassy considered the Crown Agents as a respected British company. The embassy stressed that Albanian politicians should either confirm the charges in the direction of the Crown Agent or withdraw,” the British Embassy said in its statement. Enditem
