CSUC SRC Elections: Richmond Agyemang for Presidency

“Student leaders need to put their personal agendas aside”- Unknown

The Student Representative Council (SRC) of every school stands for the well-being of students and also champions the cause of students by cooperating with stakeholders to bring the needs of student to the front.

It is yet another election year for tertiary students, where new leaders are to be chosen for the next two semesters; and if COVID-19 had not entered with its ugly head, it would’ve been a ‘gyama’ spiced election campaigning, group meetings, Keep fits, among other social events all to project candidates and their respective messages to win the hearts of the voters.

Candidate Richmond Agyemang

From the Odeneho Kwadaso based 40 year old Christian Service University College (CSUC), comes a vibrant, articulate, innovative, and student at heart gentleman who is ready to serve and bring student needs to the fore and also bridge the communication gap between school management and the SRC.

Richmond Agyemang, also worked with Spirit Fm and GBC’s Garden City radio, all in the Kumasi metropolis.

Positions held.

Richmond Agyemang is currently the Class Rep for Level 300 Communication studies weekend class. This is a position he has held from Level 100 and by dint of hardwork, he goes unopposed whenever the issue of electing a new Class Rep comes on board.

He is currently an interim Executive member, Association of Communication Students (ASCOMS) and one of the bold members of the SRC General Assembly.

Richmond Agyemang believes in a student leader who put aside his personal needs and strives to seek the betterment of his or her people who believed in his ideas and voted them to power.

He is one of the voices at the SRC General Assembly who is always championing the cause of students, especially weekend and evening students.

Vision and Values

His administration’s vision for the student body if given the nod is to carry out the vision and mission of the University, create a student environment where they are empowered, and pushed to be creative and also stand tall among other private universities.

His administration will be an all inclusive type that will not only make the Regular school the peak of the university; but also bringing on board both evening and weekend schools for SRC activities. This tact will see to a more dynamic SRC that will achieve a common goal together.

His visions are captured under four thematic areas; Academics, Student Affairs, Attachments and Logistics. These thematic areas have in mind student needs from all departments.
Richmond Agyemang always tell those close to him that, his dream of becoming a student leader was borne out of the motivation in this favourite quote of his; “Leaders in still in their people a hope for success and belief in themselves. Positive leaders empower people to accomplish their goals”

By this article, I call on the student body to consider giving their vote to the man who really understands the concerns of students, even in their silent mood.
