At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel began a three-day visit to China on Tuesday.
Diaz-Canel, 58, has served as first secretary of two of the Communist Party of Cuba’s provincial committees, first in Villa Clara and then in Holguin. He has also served as minister of higher education, vice president of the Council of Ministers and first vice president of the Council of State by the National Assembly.
On April 19, 2018, Diaz-Canel won Cuba’s presidential election and was sworn in as the country’s president. Enditem
