Kudjoh Attah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for North Dayi and Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the North Dayi Constituency, has called on Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in his district to leverage government efforts to enhance their livelihoods.
His appeal came during a presentation of support items to 35 PWDs at Anfoega Akukome last Friday.
The support items, a comprehensive range including home ovens, fufu pounding machines, industrial sewing machines, farm inputs, movable cassava mills, fast-moving consumer goods, and cash, were distributed to the 35 PWDs at Anfoega Akukome last Friday.
These items, carefully selected to cater to the diverse needs of PWDs, are part of the government’s commitment to providing tools and equipment that can significantly improve the financial independence and self-sustenance of PWDs.
Hon. Attah emphasized the importance of utilizing the support effectively and announced that social welfare officers would conduct follow-up visits to monitor the beneficiaries’ progress.
He stressed that the Assembly would be able to support more PWDs in the future only if the current beneficiaries properly used the items provided.
He urged the recipients to avoid selling the distributed items, highlighting that the support is intended to improve their livelihoods and contribute to their long-term well-being, instilling a sense of reassurance and confidence in the PWD community.
Attah, in his closing remarks, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to advocating for and supporting society’s poor and vulnerable, particularly PWDs, to ensure they lead dignified lives.
