Mr. Eric Kusi, the Adansi North District Chief Executive (DCE), has pledged to supply 100 mono desks to the Dompoase Demonstration D/A Basic School, to enhance teaching and learning.
He would additionally make available a set of jersey, footballs and 50 bags of cement for renovation of the school block.
He announced this at the launch of the “Back to School” project, being spearheaded by past students of the school and which involves mobilizing the needed resources to aid its development.
Mr. Kusi said education was the best investment any parent could make for their children, adding that, it was the way forward to making their lives meaningful to themselves and the society.
They should therefore do everything to ensure that they complemented government’s efforts at ensuring that there was access and quality.
Mr. Emmanuel Asamoah, the Public Relations Officer of the Old Students Association, said they were determined to do all they could to create a more academic-friendly environment to raise performance.
For now, their focus was on refurbishing the school to inspire both the teachers and children to give it their all.
He added that the goal of the project was to assist improve teaching and learning in the school.
Mr Akwasi Yeboah, the head teacher of the school, expressed worry about what he said was the indifference of many parents in the community to the education of their children and asked that this should change.
They should accept the responsibility of providing children with their basic school needs.
