ABUJA — Two suspected female suicide bombers blew up themselves while attempting to invade Maiduguri, capital of Nigeria’s northeastern state of Borno, to cause havoc, local police said Monday.

QUITO — A 5.7-magnitude earthquake in northern Ecuador left two people dead and injured another 15 on Monday, as it caused substantial material damage.
