(dpa) – Ousmane Dembele snatched Barcelona a 1-0 win over Real Valladolid on Monday, leaving them one point behind leaders Atletico Madrid in the title race.
The Catalans were below par but capitalised after Valladolid were harshly reduced to 10 men, with Oscar Plano sent off for fouling Dembele.
Dembele volleyed home Ronald Araujo’s flick-on at the back post in the 90th minute to earn Barcelona three vital points ahead of next weekend’s Clasico against Real Madrid.
Atletico top the table on 66 points from 29 games after their defeat by Sevilla on Sunday, with Barcelona close on their tail and Real three points behind.
