A group, Nasarawa State concerned All Progressives Congress, APC,
members, has threatened to disrupt the peace of Nasarawa state over
the recent suspension of the state’s deputy governor, Damishi Barau,
for alleged anti-party affairs.
On Monday, the state Interim Chairman of the party, Standly Buba,
announced the suspension of Mr. Barau for faulting the directive of
National Executive Council of the APC that its federal lawmakers
boycott executive bills.
Addressing a press conference at the state’s National Union of
Journalists secretariat along Makurdi road, Lafia, Wednesday, the
leader of the group, Nathaniel Isah, alleged that the
suspension was a calculated attempt to tarnish and humiliate the
person of the deputy governor.
“We dare whatever power that wants to create uncertainty and turmoil
in our state or benefit from chaos and warn them to be careful,” Mr.
He said that the group will not fold its arms and watch people create
confusion in an already tensed atmosphere.
