The Eastern Regional Acting Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Mr Anokye Abebreseh has adviced Ghanaians to desist from illegal connection from the ECG, which normally affect them.
He also appealed to all and sundry to pay their electricity bills on time and expressed disgust at the way people do temper with meters for it not to record appropriately.
?Mr Abebreseh said perpetrators of such illegal act if apprehended, will be prosecuted.
He indicated that normally customers do delay a lot in paying their bills, which due to the delay, the ECG has introduced the prepaid in some areas, like Koforidua, Nkwakwa and Tafo, which the company is willingly to spread to other district.
Mr Abebreseh added that the prepaid system was very good in terms of payment of bills than the post paid one, stating that if the prepaid will be spread to other District in the region it would be the best and would make bill payment much easier.
He indicated that the Eastern Regional ECG has been able to spread electricity to thirteen District in the Region namely, Koforidua, Tafo, Suhum, Nkwakwa, Mpreaso, New abiriem, Kibi, Donkorkrom, Asesewa, Akwatia Begoro and Asamankese.
In an interview with The Moment he urge Ghanaians that electricity company of Ghana is willing to serve them so they should try as much as possible not to engage in any bad acts that will make the company lose, they should pay their bills promptly for them to also pay their suppliers.
