A flyer in circulation which is suggesting that a planned prayer rally to be held this Sunday by the Christian Ecumenical Councils in Ghana, is in support of the LGBTQI+ is COMPLETELY a charade and absolute figment of imagination.

The features of the doctored flyer are as follows:

  1. On the flyer has portraits of some noble Clergy men and that of a dark-skinned man just by the inscription “1 Day National Prayer Rally on LGBTQI+” wearing a yellowish turban who seems to be in high spirits with his tongue stuck out.
  2. Again, the theme for the original flyer has been changed from Homosexuality: “A Detestable Sin to God” to “God loves the LGBTQIA+ Just as He loves Everyone Else”
  3. They have also altered the Bible quotations from the original (Leviticus 20:13; Rom 1:18-32; 1 Cor 6:9-11) to Deuteronomy 18:20; Ezekiel 13:9, Jeremiah 14:14. with many others on the far left side.

These depict a clear tampered and doctored version of the original flyer.

We wish to alert all our members and the general public to disregard the flyer forthwith and not countenance it whatsoever.

We, Journalists’ Against LGBTQ+ is of the belief that the group wants to thwart our plans to pin down their immoral act however, we are also of the view that, we will be victorious at the end of our fight against the LGBTQI+ gaining prominence in our noble motherland.

Meanwhile, we will be joining the Christian Council of Ghana, Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches, Catholic Bishops Conference and National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches and all other Ecumenical Bodies in Ghana in collaboration with the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values this Sunday, 21st March, 2021, 4:00pm at the Church of Pentecost Worship Centre at Burma Camp to hold a one-day prayer rally against LGBTQI+.

Many thanks.

Convenor, Journalists Against LGBTQI+ Ghana
