According to some tutors who spoke with News Ghana, the district Education Office charged 60 pesewas as orientation fee for the students as of last year. But it has been increased to Gh 2.00 this year, which has been a burden for parents and tutors in the district.

Mr. Asase Raymond, one of the Tutors who also spoke with News Ghana disclosed that, this orientation is a program organized by the district Education Office for the third years every year and it’s supposed to be free of charge. But then last year, they were charged 60 pesewas.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has warned teachers from extorting monies from students. They don’t known why this is happening in Atwima Nwabiagya District.

Others added that, the over charging of orientation program fee has been a problem for them as tutors because, parents have started mounting pressure on them as to why they are taking such monies.

They are therefore calling on the Acting director of Education, Mrs Joyce Aduamal to redraw these chages as quickly as possible, lest they gnash their teeth on her.

All attempts to called the District Director of Education Mrs Joyce Aduamal, she refused to answer any question nor grant me audience.
