According to him, electing people to manage a nation’s affairs is a serious business which Ghanaians do not have to play with, hence there is every need for people, especially eligible voters to ensure that their votes are counted.

He said, “If you have the power to send some people to go and manage your affairs and better your lots don’t play with it,” at a public lecture organised by the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research on Monday, June 27, 2016.

He mentioned that Ghana is strong enough to achieve the United Nations development targets under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), but that will rest on a strong and determined leadership.

He added that, in a democratic system voting is an evidence of your sovereignty as an individual “…but if you have the power to send people to go and manage your affairs make use of it,” he said, adding, “We must learn the positive uses of our power.”
