Doris Afriyie emerged as the best athlete in the under 15 category of this year’s Ghana’s Fastest human competition held over the weekend in the Western region.
Mr David Akwasi Amofa, Corporate Affairs Director of the GNPC said his outfit was committed to growing the sports industry and offer employment opportunities to young Ghanaians.
He said Ghana’s presence and impact at the Olympics must be felt again and that the fastest human competition to nurture new talents for future games was in the right direction.
Mr Amofa said the GNPC was committed to reviving athletics in the country.
The GNPC sponsored Ghana’s Fastest Human event is an open athletics championship in four categories of U-10, U-15, U-18 and seniors held on regional basis, with the winners from each region qualifying for the grand finals.
The grand final of the competition comes off on September 16 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
