Marco Reus will miss the whole preseason due to due to an injury in the right knee, Borussia Dortmund announced in an official statement on Monday.
The 27-year-old offensive midfielder partially tore his cruciate ligaments in the German Cup final victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
Reus, who already suffered a number of injuries that kept him at the sidelines, sustained the injury early in the first half in Dortmund’s 2-1 win at the Berlin Olympia stadium.
On Monday, in-depth examinations revealed that the midfielder has to undergo a surgery. Hence, Dortmund refused to give a precise date on Reus’ comeback.
The Germany international, who missed most of the big tournaments due to injuries, plays since 2012 for the “BVB” where he provided 56 goals in overall 125 appearances. Enditem
