Mr Amakye the political science lecturer with KNUST today diagnosed the statement made by the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Wontumi.

The lecturer whose ideological inclination tilts towards the Danquah//Busia tradition, was interviewed on an Accra Radio Station Neat FM and when asked to assess the Wontumi statement, the man stated emphatically that the statement wasn?t necessary and premature. He went on to say he doesn?t support Akuffo Addo?s candidature because to him, so far as Akuffo Addo has been rejected twice, it can only be interpreted to mean Ghanaians don?t want him as their leader and the likelihood of NPP losing the next election under Akuffo Addo candidature, is very high.

The man went on to state that, if the Npp try to hide the age issue of Akuffo Addo and his sudden change in physique due to health complications, they will surely be exposed citing the case of Prof Atta Mills to support his position. He questioned the neutrality of Wontumi per his actions during Akuffo Addo?s visit to the Region and subsequent statement. The political scientist stated that, the Npp is going through this AkuffoAddo headache because African politicians think of their personal parochial interest above the national interest. He said, per all permutations, Akuffo Addo can?t win the coming elections to lead this country.

Meanwhile, my outfit a@a newsline is working on some statistics to show the difference between the three times attempts by Mills and the Akuffo Addo story. Mills electoral fortunes increased at every attempt whiles that of Akuffo Addo depreciates at every attempt. Mills naturally had to impetus because of the votes increase so can?t be a measuring yardstick.
